My husband and I had the honour of being little Amelie’s godparents last weekend. I found some adorable hand made owls from Red Stitch Designs via madeit.com.au. Super cute yes?
So, of course, I wanted to incorporate an owl in the design of the cake for this special occasion. Amelie’s mum LOVES cats and asked if I could perhaps include a cat somewhere. So, I got to thinking…hmmmm… an owl and a cat, an owl and a cat…hmmm – of course! (slaps the forehead) The Owl and the Pussycat!
“I just don’t want a cake, I want a centrepiece” was the request from little Eleni’s mum.. a christening celebration that was to take place at one of Melbourne’s luxury hotels demanded nothing less than something spectacular – something fit for a princess!
This cake was created to celebrate the christening of a sweet little boy, Panayioti. The cake has a hand made gumpaste teddy atop the top tier and fondant stars. Stripes feature on the bottom tier and his name is made from fondant blocks – placed on the board.
