This cake was created for a gorgeous little girl, Lulu. Her christening theme was rainbows and fairies and so this design was born! The bottom tier is chocolate fudge cake with dark chocolate ganache filling. The top tier is hummingbird cake with a white chocolate ganache filling.

The fairy took almost 5 hours from start to finish. I wasn’t that happy with the legs, I think I need to get a few more of these figurines under my belt to be satisfied with them . Decorating them is fine , that’s the fun part, but the structure as such,is a guessing game for me at this stage.. I’m in awe of Planet Cakes funky figurines.. think I’ll have to do a course at some stage to learn all the secrets!!

The grass took forever to do as they were individually cut and placed around the cake… I’m a glutton for punishment!! The larger  blossoms were dusted in the centres for a bit of depth and contrast – all in all a pretty cake!
