Rubber Ducky, you’re the one!
My baby girl turned 2 and we threw a party which featured her favourite colour – yellow – and her favourite thing in her little world.at the moment.. a ducky! In Greek the word is ‘papaki’… it warms my heart to see her little eyes shine and exclaim ‘papaki!!” when she sees a duck of any description. Too cute for words!
I adored making this cake.. somewhat unchartered territory as I haven’t made many 3D animal cakes but I am so happy with the result!
Sculpted from chocolate mud cake, don’t look too hard.. only the second time I’ve used an airbrush!
I also took the opportunity to style the party – the whole package.. sweets, styling, invitations, photography. I kind of went a bit over the top! It was exhausting, exhilarating and so, so rewarding! Not a bad effort! I did have some help though.. my talented sister in law created the invitations and printables and my twin sister was working with me until the wee hours the night before decorating, fluffing up tissue pom poms and being my wing man on the day. Thanks girls, you’re the best!
Fluffy vanilla, home made marshmallows..
Lemon and bubblegum macarons, lemon petite fours and vanilla sugar cookies decorated with fondant. Oh, and lets not forget the honey joys!
Mini vanilla meringue kisses..
The cherry on top was the feature on the amazing Amy Atlas blog. What a thrill!
Happiest of birthdays to you my Tia – all my love, always! x
