It’s always lovely to be asked ‘back’ to make another cake for a client… this cake was created for little Jesse’s first birthday. I recently made his Train christening cake and was excited to be part of his special birthday too..
This cake was designed around the invitations sourced from Australian company “Imprintables”.They have a gorgeous collection of stylish invitations for all occasions and this birthday invitation was no exception.

This was a rather large cake – 12″ square – so I wrapped the design around each side and punctuated the nautical theme with a hand made fondant life buoy on the top.

On the inside, cake is apple and cinnamon cake filled with a decadent caramel ganache. Sailboat vanilla sugar cookies decorated with fondant were also made to accompany the cake.

Jesse’s mum did a wonderful job in styling his party with a perfectly coordinated sweet buffet… lovely!
