The brief was “something purple”. I didn’t want to go too deep with the colour as it can be heavy and formal. I wanted to keep this design light and modern, suitable for a young girl’s birthday. This design showcases purple in its many shades, hand painted in a watercolour style and set out in a tiled design. Imperfect, a little rustic but clean and certainly young & modern. Offset with wafer paper ranunculus airbrushed a deep regal purple for a real pop, this design can be adapted to any colour palette. A new favourite!
Happy birthday Julia!

6 tiers of romance for Vincent & Rebecca!
This cake designed around Bella’s favourite Disney Princess – Belle. I wanted roses – of course – I wanted a tall structure to symbolise strength, I wanted soft yellow pleats and glittering jewels that denotes a fairytale and I wanted this cake to be another reason for Bella to smile on her birthday. You see, Bella has been through a tumultuous year – a devastating leukaemia diagnosis – aggressive and rare – countless days in hospital preparing for and enduring a bone marrow transplant, the dizzying heights of being told she was in remission only to have that crash down when only a short time later being told that the cancer had returned. There was nothing to be done. Well – never say never. Bella is taking part in a drug trial and is responding well – the future still isn’t certain but she is happy, her parents can breathe just a little easier for the moment and she has an amazing family and incredible support network around her and her family that beggars belief. It was an honour to play a small part in her birthday celebration. Bella is 8! She is an inspiration and her smile is as bright as Belle’s gown!
5 tiers of caramel mud cake filled with dark chocolate ganache.
Red sugar roses with their falling petals atop a hand painted entwined rose garden which encircles the cake and the soft yellow pleats of Belle’s gown swaying around the bottom tier. Its the stuff of fairytales. isn’t it…
Marble – timeless, elegant and very much in vogue in the cake world. This thirtieth cake is a man cake! Organised by his partner, it was to be masculine and strong – hence the thick marbling. Marble luxe – sharp, clean and stylish. Just the way we like it.
One of my favourite colour palettes! Cant go wrong with charcoal and pink! A beautiful wedding cake adorned with sugar roses, gardenias and hydrangea blossoms.
Tres chic!
